The Russian River Volunteer/Naturalist Interpretive Programs provide docents and naturalists for our youth education programs with several new enlivening enhancements for the upcoming year. Stewards recruits and trains about 400 community members every year, who become candidates to staff our various public education and school programs as docents, volunteers, and seasonal naturalists.
Our environmental education programs serve over 6,000 students annually. Each year we strive to provide enough docents to meet the needs of the schools signed up for our interactive environmental education experiences. State Park docents educate school children about the fascinating intertidal ecosystems, the magnificent old growth redwoods, plus the natural and cultural history in Russian River area State Parks.
